GPC’s 10-Step Interior Painting System – All Paint Jobs are Not the Same
Step 1: Inspection
A complete inspection is conducted and careful measurements are taken. We assist you in selecting appropriate products and colors especially for your home.
Step 2: Protect and Cover
We protect and cover all floors, furniture, and all non-removable fixtures with protective coverings.
Step 3: Prepare Surface(s)
Surfaces are cleaned and prepared for painting through use of one of the following methods: (1) Application of TSP (Trisodium Phosphate heavy duty cleaner), (2) Sanding and (3) chemical de-glossing. Proper cleansing and preparation allows for the paint to adhere properly. *For mold/mildew, a bleach solution will be used.
Step 4: Patch & Repair
All holes, cracks, and textured walls will be properly patched and repaired.
Step 5: Caulking
Windows, door casings and base moldings are caulked to avert moisture and prevent peeling.
Step 6: Primer / Sealer
All patched and repaired areas, as well as those areas that require spot priming, are carefully primed with appropriate primer/sealer.
Step 7: Whole Surface Primer Coat
Primer is brushed, rolled or sprayed on, as determined by qualified technicians, using only the highest quality primer. Although optional in many cases, this step ensures top-coat uniformity in color, sheen, texture, appearance and longevity.
Step 8: Primary Finish Top-Coat
Paint is brushed, rolled or sprayed on, as determined by qualified technicians, using the pre-determined brand, sheen level, and quality of your choice.
Step 9: Secondary Finish Top-Coat
A second coat of paint is applied to ensure color saturation and a professional finish.
Step 10: Customer Satisfaction
Upon completion a walkthrough is conducted with the customer. Any rework will be listed on the GPC punch list and scheduled for immediate remedy. Final payment will not be due until all work is completed to the customer’s satisfaction. |
